We are currently focused on building the six new underground stations, constructing the concrete bases that will hold the SkyTrain tracks in the tunnels, and installing tracks on the Elevated Guideway. Geotechnical, piezometer and closed-circuit TV (CCTV) readings will be taken overnight throughout 2024
Temporary single-lane closures of up to one hour for CCTV monitoring locations with reduced speeds and detours around the work as required
For geotechnical monitoring device and piezometer readings, there will be short-term traffic lane shifts (about 15-minutes in duration) at the test locations
A traffic truck with direction lights will indicate the lane shift, while crews take the geotechnical or piezometer readings
We are maintaining four lanes of traffic in station areas on Broadway during weekday peak periods, with lane closures planned primarily in off peak times.
Between station areas, six lanes of traffic are open during rush hour, with on-street parking in some locations in off-peak times.
Off peak times include: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and weekends.
Please expect temporary lane closures for deliveries, crane movement of materials into the station areas and work on the traffic deck.
Great Northern Way-Emily Carr Station
Great Northern Way-Emily Carr hours of work: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Intermittent night work.
Elevated guideway typical hours of work: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Intermittent night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies. Intermittent hydro vac activities.

Through winter 2025, work will continue to be focused on installing the tracks for the extension of the Millennium Line. This includes work to support track installation inside the tunnels.

Mount Pleasant Station

Deliveries to site require intermittent closures of less than 30 minutes in the southbound curb lane on Main Street between E. Broadway and E. 10th Avenue.
Throughout the winter, work is focused on constructing the walls, columns, floors and roof of the underground station.
In addition, crews are working along Cambie Street from W. Broadway to W. 10th Avenue to connect the Millennium Line extension to the existing Canada Line station.

Excavation of the vent shaft and emergency exit is ongoing near Oak Street. Includes intermittent rock breaking.
With significant progress made on the internal structures of the station, crews will continue work on the second level of the station throughout the winter.

Arbutus Station
Typical hours of work: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Regular night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
W. Broadway reduced to one lane in each direction for material deliveries and concrete work.
With significant progress made on the internal structures of the station, crews will continue work on the second level of the station and roof throughout the winter.
Typical hours of work are from Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work that starts earlier or work on Sunday and holidays.
One lane in each direction on W. Broadway between Arbutus and Burrard Street is maintained.
There will be one lane in each direction on W. Broadway between Arbutus and Burrard Street at all times.
Left turns from W. Broadway onto Cypress Street and from W. Broadway westbound onto Maple Street will be allowed at all times.
Maple Street north of W. Broadway will be closed to vehicles and cyclists.
Cypress Street north of W. Broadway will be reopened to vehicles and cyclists to facilitate north-south access to the neighbourhood and businesses on the north side of W. Broadway.
Cyclists are encouraged to use the Arbutus Greenway detour via Cypress Street, W. 7th Avenue and W. 10th Avenue.
On Friday, June 28, the first roof concrete pour will take place on W. Broadway, between Cypress and Maple streets.
Over the coming months, there will be concrete pours of varying volumes. For the subsequent major pours, set up will begin as early as 5 a.m. and continue until 10 p.m.
Expect elevated noise related to trucking. Concrete trucks are required to have their engines running at all times to keep their drums turning, and to use traditional back-up alarms for crew safety.
Broadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the work and traffic control personnel will help manage traffic during all work.
Low noise work continuing overnight to finish related activities.
Work will continue inside the tunnels to build the concrete base for track installation and install track and other systems.
Crews are excavating and building the multiple service passages between the twin tunnels.
While crews work inside the tunnels, ventilation fans will be in operation at each station as they play a crucial role in maintaining optimal air quality within the tunnels.
While tunnel activities take place below ground, some activities such as soil and debris removal, concrete pours, and material deliveries will require equipment operating at street level at the future station sites.
